We are looking to raise £300,000 to help young people and adults with mobility disabilities access the Watson Scout Centre more safely and easily.
We want to replace the wooden extension with a permanent energy-efficient building and provide more opportunities for adventure to young people.
If we don't replace the wooden extension, it will mean that our indoor sleeping capacity will reduce from 36 to 28 beds and the improvements for young and adult users with mobility issues can't go ahead.
The new building will provide not only accessible sleeping accommodation, toilet and shower facilities for those with mobility issues, it will also widen the Centre's scope to further develop use by those undertaking The Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme.
We also aim to have Watson recognised as a centre for camping when undertaking expeditions in the North Yorks Moors National Park.
You can buy-a-brick quickly and easily on our Localgiving page.
If you don't wish to buy-a-brick online, we will accept cheque donations made payable to 'NYCSC Watson Scout Centre'
Cheques should be posted to North Yorkshire Scouts, 43B Market Place, THIRSK, North Yorkshire, YO7 1HA.
can fundraise locally for Watson and take part in our Buy-a-Brick campaign.
Use and copy (or download?) the Buy-a-Brick leaflet and sponsor form to raise funds locally and help us to develop Watson.
